Honda Vezel: petrol CVT and hybrid DCT maintenance
Administrator
The Vezel (2013–2021 in most Kenyan imports) comes as a 1.5 litre petrol with a CVT or a hybrid with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (i-DCD). Find out which you have before booking a service.
Hybrid Vezel: the dual-clutch gearbox
- A slight jerk when pulling away slowly or in stop-start traffic is common. Honda issued software updates for this gearbox; a Honda specialist can check whether yours is up to date.
- Persistent harsh jerks, a burning smell or gearbox warning lights need diagnosis soon.
- Gearbox oil at the manual's interval.
- Keep the hybrid battery cooling intake clean; dusty vents make the battery run hot.
Petrol Vezel with CVT
- CVT fluid every 40,000 km with Honda's CVT fluid.
- Smooth acceleration helps the CVT last longer.
All Vezels
- Engine oil every 5,000–10,000 km depending on driving, with the grade in the manual.
- Air and cabin filters every 20,000 km.
- Four-wheel-drive versions: keep all four tyres matched.
